The Seochon showroom of Ginger Eyewear, an eyewear brand started in 2018 by two designers who studied furniture. In an alley on Jahamun-ro near Gyeongbokgung, a space done in warm yellow light and pale wood tones naturally stops passersby. Inside sit pieces from Finnish furniture brand Artek, so the founders' starting point in furniture reads in every corner. The name "Ginger" comes from a philosophy of blending quietly into daily life like ginger, yet leaving a distinct scent. Beyond horn-rimmed glasses and sunglasses there are goods like mint-ginger tea and yuzu-ginger tea, so there is plenty to browse. Worth a stop on a Seochon walk.
