Slorence

Seongsu & Wangsimni

Showroom

A small ceramic studio near Ttukseom Station. Artist Kim Ji-eun, with two different backgrounds in ceramic craft and visual design, shapes the clay and lays the glaze herself, firing them one by one. Rather than smooth, tidy shapes, these are dishes where a slightly crooked curve and a softly spread glaze mark bring, if anything, a sense of ease. Even within one series, the color shifts a little with each firing, so though the shape is the same, no two are exactly alike. If you are looking for a dish that seems careless yet holds care, why not look into Slorence. • Focus Item — Ring Vase. A vase whose signature is a neck lined with layered rings; the glaze color, sitting a little differently with each firing, makes a different expression every time.
